Our school days
taught the union
was the prize
from blood and
battled years..
a constitution
survival through
loss unimagined..
but now
 this day in
 consciousness rise
a hearing and
 close listening to
 Gettysburg words..
elevating purpose
echoes of equality
teasing new Eyesight
from battled years...
